Resolved Question: Can I change Army Recruiters?
I wanted to know if its at all possible to go to a different Army Recruiting office to process my paper work. I have been going to an office by me and the recruiter there has yet to work on my file and lost my transcripts and H.S.diploma. It has now been over 3 months since I decided to enlist and just today when I went down there he said, "Oh yeah hey I will be working on your file this week don't worry I got you!" He told me this same thing a month ago! Can I just go to a different recruiting station? I feel he is just to busy to work on my file or he is just blowing me off! moreResolved Question: Is this True about some Recruiters?
I heard that some recruiters have sex with the recruitees because the recruitees think they can get MORE then the avg person joining(more bonus money, better benefits, etc). Also...what's up with some of these recruiters?? I remember going into the Army Recruiting Office 3 years ago to join(which I did) and there was a female recruiter..and 2 of the male recruiters were all talking about her nipple ring..and how she was gonna show me her "ring"(which she wasn't & didn't). And THEN at lunchtime all the recruiters went to lunch at a nearby Mickey D's..and Female recruiter was on line to order..me & the male recruiters were behind her..and one of the male recruiters asked me quietly.."Hey..Would you hit that?". This dude knew I was married & asked me that..but I just said.."Umm..I'm married". Are all recruiters like this?? Do they think they can get all the booty in the world by saying.."You're gonna get this..this this..and alittle more if you go out with me!". And.."Hey..that girl look good..luckily my army wife ain't here to hear me say this!" moreResolved Question: 17 and joining the Army?
I went to the Recruiting office today and spoke with them. Just waiting to get my HS diploma this May. ANY TIPSS? i have no idea how i should get started and which kind of job i should do because theres a lot to choose from... I want to become a Police officer later on though. Couple questions: Can i only do two years? Where will i expect to be? How much is the pay? moreResolved Question: Is this true about joining the Air Force?
Before I went into the Army(where I am now)..I wanted to be in the Air Force..so I went to an Air Force Recruiting Office(right next to other military services) & spoke to a recruiter about joining...I told him I wasn't married & he checked my SS# on his computer to see if I has anything bad on my record. It turns out I had bad credit(which I already knew)..and the recruiter told me since I got bad credit & since I'm not married that I can't really join the Air Force...So he referred me to one of the Offices next door(I went to the Army Recruiting office of course). But here is my question....Do I have to have GOOD credit to get into the Air Force?...that's what the Recruiter was basically telling since he turned me down. I wasn't married at the time either & I was with kids so that probably what also made him turn me down. P.S: I was gonna try & join the Air Force after I'm done with the Army(in 10 months) but they don't take soldiers.Nah..I wasn't a single parent at the time TECHNICALLY..Me & my g/f had 2 kids...but we wasn't married yet(which we are now)..and since we wasn't married that would mean (in military terms) that my G/F was the single parent since she is the mother. And if you're not married I don't get all the family benefits to help the family. It really didn't matter anyway..because I got married a week before I got shipped of to BCT(Army). Which was about 6 weeks after I walked into the Air Force Recruiter Office. moreResolved Question: can someone help me improve and check my essay?
please help me improve my essay! the question is basicly to decribe the key features of the police force in the 19th centruy and stuff, and i pretty much have to explain how bad it was! heres my essay: At the start of the 19th century, the enforcement of law and order in England and Wales was the same as it had been during the Middle Ages. Before 1829, the streets of many British towns and cities were patrolled by watchmen and parish constables, who prevented disturbances and robberies. In 1750, law and order in London broke down completely during the Gordon riots. London’s population had grown to 1.5 million, yet there were only 450 constables and 4,000 watchmen. The growth in population meant that the number of crimes committed increased. Law and order had to improve. ‘Bow Street Runners’ were appointed in London and the Thames river police were set up in 1800. There were many problems with London’s police force. They lacked professionalism and whenever there was a serious problem the army had to be called in. The tactics they used were often inefficient and often caused more problems. The need for a preventative police force was highlighted by the Peterloo Massacre in 1819 – whereby 50,000 people met at St Peter’s Fields in Manchester to hear Henry Hunt speak in favor of the reform of Parliament. The Manchester magistrates panicked at the sight of the crowd and ordered special constables to arrest Henry Hunt. The constables were trapped inside the crowd. They began to lash out with their swords, and finally called on regular army units - which cleared the area within a matter of minutes. The incident showed just how badly trained the police were. The fact that they panicked and began to use their swords highlighted their poor training and immature behavior when put under pressure. Also, the growth in homicide, robbery, theft and burglary were all increasing with the advent of the Industrial Revolution. In 1829, the Home Secretary, Sir Robert Peel, set up the Metropolitan Police Force. The act set up a force of 3,200 men to cover an area extending 7 miles from the centre of London. There were 17 divisions, each with four inspectors and 144 constables. The policemen were known as ‘Peelers’ or ‘Bobbies’ after Robert Peel. The metropolitan police force was given a blue uniform, with a tail-coat, a top hat, and as few badges and decorations as possible. All of these served to make it as distinct as possible from the army. They were unarmed except from truncheons – however from the 1840s and 1850s, inspectors in the police force began to carry revolvers at all times. The metropolitan police force was set up to carry out the functions of both he watchmen and special constables. Their duties were to patrol the streets in order to keep order and deter crime, but were also used to tackle major disturbances such as riots. There were many problems at first. On many occasions the force had to be backed up by the army, and there were frequent death of demonstrators. Most early recruits were unsuitable due to drunkenness and either resigned or were sacked. Another problem was that the police force was highly unpopular. Many people - rich and poor alike – hated the police, they thought they were pointless and they did not like being told what to do by somebody in uniform. It was also unpopular because of its methods of crowd control. The most common tactic was the baton charge – in 1833 a constable was killed during the riot. The event showed how unorganised the police were. A third example of the problems the new police force had was that the metropolitan police force was not copied anywhere else in Britain. Also, Peels police force reforms were only applied to London, law and order did not really change in the rest of Britain. There were many successful developments in police work during the 19th century. In 1842, the Metropolitan Police developed a Detective Department. The department had two inspectors and six sergeants. When this department first started the use of detectives was under great suspicion and opposition. The public was concerned that plain clothes-men could not be identified, and the home office was concerned detectives would become too friendly with the criminals. In 1869 the National Criminal Record was set up to deal with the most notorious criminals, and in 1877 a Criminal Investigations Department (CID) was established with 200 detectives increasing to 800 by 1883. In 1879 the Detective Department introduced its first set of rules and regulations to establish the department's ideas of professionalism for instructions in dealing with murder cases. For example, ordering investigating officers, "the body must not be moved, or anything about the body or anything in the room or area, and the public must be excluded." Forensic progress was also made during this time. A great example of this was in 1884 when John Tomms was convicted of murder because the po moreVoting Question: I'm writing a fantasy novel and need opinions!?
I'm working on a fantasy story concerning a man named Alex who gets involved in a war between the real world and the fantasy world. A dark master from the "fantasy realm" invades the "real world" with a plan to conquer this world and use it as a base to other worlds, seeing as we are the most intelligent and have better technology. The first place of attack is New York with the Dark Master's airships appearing over the city, while Alex is celebrating his graduation in his dad's office building on the 26th floor. The airships destroy the building but Alex manages to escape, but his father's life is lost. Alex proceeds to the subway and boards it hoping to make it back to the other side of the city and reach his home and friends. But the airships destroy the bridge and Alex goes into the New York harbor. He is rescued by fleeing humans and manages to make it back to his house in Queens. His friend is there and they remember the friends girlfriend is nearby and they go for her. Upon arriving the girl is dead and the friend is hurt and angry. As they mourn, a military platoon arrives and Alex and his friend are recruited to the army against the Dark Master. Alex and his friend escape the destruction of New York City and flee to the nation's capital to be debriefed since the first attack was Alex's graduation party. Alex's girlfriend, Serena, is there as well and safe. Alex and his friend go through tons of hardships along the way and fight many battles, becoming smarter with each one. Two years pass and the "real world" is about to end. Then, Alex and his friend are recruited for a secret plan of infiltrating the "fantasy world" and fighting the dark master there. They agree and journey to the fantasy world, where the battle becomes even harder. They learn that the Dark Master has sent a destroyer to our world in hopes of causing Armageddon and rebuilding the earth in his image. Alex's friend dies along the way, but he manages to make it to the Dark Master's stronghold, with a set of mines to detonate a bomb inside the "fantasy world", that would destroy the fantasy world foil all the Dark Master's plans as well as close the portal and save the world. Alex journeys to the top of the tower statue made after the Dark Master and fights him on top of it. Alex's guns have no effect on The Dark Master as he constantly heals himself from the wounds. Alex resorts to hand to hand combat and easily defeats the Dark Master since he has no fighting abilities, being raised on magic and swords to defend himself. It is too late though, as the Destroyer is entering the portal to the "real world" and the end of the world is about. The Dark Master laughs and says there is nothing he can do to stop the destroyer now. Alex remembers that you have to travel through limbo to get to the "real world" so he gets on his radio and talks to Serena one last time, telling her that he loves her and he'll look in on her from time to time and as the Destroyer is about to come into the "real world" Alex detonates the mine and destroys the Dark Master's scepter, closing the portal and trapping the Destroyer in limbo for eternity. The "real world" holds a celebration in honor of Alex's sacrifice and Serena reveals that Alex's legacy will live on, considering she is pregnant with Alex's child. There you have it, that's the basic idea. I know there are some plot points that are random but I need feedback. Thanks if you leave a comment! moreResolved Question: I got talked into joining the army, but now i feel that i may not qualify medically?
I have a problem that i feel i may not have a way to fix. I enlisted into the army a few weeks ago and now regret doing so. I went to MEPS once, signed where everyone wanted me to, and swore in once. I then got with my recruiter and set up a new bank acct. with the armed forces bank. Previously to me going to MEPS I came to a recruiting office as a favor to a friend who was in the army and he had just got out of basic and came home for two weeks and he asked me to go up to the recruiting office and pretend to be interested because he was supposed to recruit somebody during his two weeks at home and if i at least pretended to be interested he thought it would get the other recruiters off of his back for not recruiting anyone. I really wasn't all that interested, but as we all know the recruiters get paid to make it sound like its too good of an opportunity to pass up. But, in 2004, I was involved in a bad car wreck and had suffered a traumatic brain injury and was in a coma for 28 days, I'm really lucky to be alive and able to function as a normal person does and i told the recruiter this once he had "attached" himself to me and i got tons of phone calls everyday asking me when i was gonna join and he even came to my house once, and he said that i would be fine and had absolutely nothing to worry about. Finally, i ended up at MEPS and i did as my recruiter told which was to lie to them at MEPS and say that i was medically ok and never had been to a hospital as a patient and i signed. Why? Because im easily convinced and i believed that everything would be okay as far as medical worries because my recruiter insisted that I would be fine. Now, I have been getting weird headaches in the past 8 or 9 days where i can hardly even stand up without falling over atleast once a day, and im really worried that i have no way out of this without facing fines and/or jailtime. So, my question is... what options do i have to get myself out of this terrible situation? moreResolved Question: Should I recruit an army of hypochondriacs and take over the Office of the Surgeon General ?
What should I do with my new power? moreResolved Question: What should I do? Do it or Forget it?
As a teen I took the test to enter the Army Reserves. I've decided to attend college instead. My cousin joined the Army Reserves that same year, which was our senior year in high school. She always told me about her time in Texas at Fort Hood, her fears of being in Iraq and fun times she had with her fellow Army friends in Germany and Paris. I'm so jealous of her when she talks to her Army friends and they talk about all the things they did in Texas, Germany and Iraq. I also get envious when I see objects from her travels and pictures of her and her Army friends displayed in her house. 8 years and twins later, I wish I've tried harder to be in the reserves because I always wanted to travel the world and I would be able to tell my children about the time I would have had in the military. I see a lot of recruiting offices but have second thoughts about entering. I feel the same way at my cousin's job because she works at a recruiting office. What can I do with getting over my jealousy of my cousin? Would it be crazy to try for the reserves again or just forget it? moreVoting Question: husband of 1month left without telling me after a fight, haven't seen him since sunday, read details?
i went to his work and was told he didn't go in, his coworker told me he got a new cell from his dad as a xmas present with a different number,he has not called, his things are here, his dad refuses to speak with me, i went to the army recruiting office where he is taking a class to prepare him for basic training (he leaves in january) but he didn't show up or call to say he wasn't going in... should i take his behavior as a sign that it is over?we are both 24 and i have a son who is 3. iwhat rights do i have as a wife? also i am a stay at home mom, we live in a apartment with a roommate and without my husband we cant afford to stay nor can we afford the bills.the fight was about how immature and awful to him his dad is, when his dad found out hes going into the army his dad threatened to kill himself... i told him its not right and he needs to think about himself and me, i said if hes going to not think about us the marriage cannot work and its over if he chooses to continue this way.. moreResolved Question: Should i join airforce or army with a bachlors (non-technical) from GMU and poor gpa? ?
some backround...i am 23, male, and in good shape. ive always thought about joining the military, and have decided i am after not being able to find a real job in months after graduation. my poor gpa (2.3) reflects on my unmotivation during school after multiple major changes, not intelligence. fellow friends in military say officer school would be best fit for me. i did well on a asvab warmup test and the army recruiter said i would be eligible for many jobs. the army recruiter is pushing me to enlist as E-4 and not directly to OCS, which sounds fishy to me. i am having trouble finding AF recruiter at his office, which leads me to believe they are not heavily recruiting after personel cutbacks??? any light shed on this would be much appreciated, and any advice at all for that matter... please keep all military biases/bashings to other threads. only serious answers please. thanksto answer the first post...i meant i received my 4-year degree in public administration (what is this you ask? lets just say its probobly the primary reason i cant find a real job)also...how do i post a reply to individual posted answers instead of just posting details? i have been trying to figure it out for bout half n hour now...thanks moreVoting Question: How can my friend best advertise his army recruiting within the community?
My friend is an Army recruiter and he wants to go above and beyond his limits. Instead of just doing the driving and the phone calls, he would like to reach out by email or have help from an advertisement agency to promote his Ads. Is there a major place in every community where there may be a webmaster that can distribute an email to most people in the community thu work or home? I know that as a recruiter there is a email campaign but from my understanding its already people in the system. my friend wants to reach out to the whole community. Would it be a good idea to hit the post office as well? moreResolved Question: Will a recruiter pick me up? ?

When we did the sit ups, crunches, and push ups, I felt pretty confident(except the push ups). Soon, we moved onto the pull up bar. I was absolutely petrified. Everyone in the recruiting office was watching me and another girl, because we had to do the dead hang. She held on for 13 sec. I couldn't even flex lol, and I felt someone pushing my back all I thought was "Omg..This is so embarrassing" Other than that one embarrassing moment, it was pretty cool. The recruiters there were really nice considering the fact I was wearing army sweat pants, but one of them tried to jokingly tell me to never wear army apparel(I only had Army sweat pants) in a Marines Recruiting station(After a Poolee said he was going to go make fun of the Army kids and walked out of the station). Anyways, my question is, Do I need to call every time I want to go PTing with them? What should I do to strengthen my upper arms? I only have Army Sweatpants. I do have leggings, but its in hot pink, light blue and black, what should I wear next time? moreResolved Question: Is it possible to get an internship with the army/air force/navy as a high schooler?
my school has a program where seniors can intern with an organization/business/person that reflects their career choice. I'm not talking about going to Iraq, just being in a recruiting office or something would be great too. moreResolved Question: Can I get in to the marine corps with a Ged?
Ive heard a lot of things about having a ged and getting into the marines. But my diploma I got says High School Equivalency Diploma not ged .. Does anyone know what they will say to that and how much of a chance i will have to get in? moreResolved Question: Can you help with a "lofty goal in the military" question?
Within the next few months to a year I'm going to go into a recruiting office and join the army. My ultimate goal, as distant as it mat be, is to be part of SFOD-D. My question is this: Where do I start? When I go to the recruiter should I sign up for Rangers, or rather have it put into my contract? Or would it be wiser to start out infantry and go from there? I've read here and on forums that many people who have reached Delta started as Rangers. I also read some went from Rangers to Special Forces and finally got selected to pursue Delta. Would it be wise, then, to go from Ranger to Special Forces then, if opportunity arises, Delta? Thanks much. moreResolved Question: joining the army need some help?

Additionally, how many soldiers are here? If this is classified, then tell me. But I am writing a short essay on American soldiers in Korea and I would like some information. I don't need specific details, just basic information. Please provide a link or something so I can verify this. When I was at the recruiting office many years ago I was torn between Army and Navy. If I joined the Army I could go camping and shoot guns. If I joined the Navy I could go to many different countries. I chose the Navy because there aren't many Navy bases in Nebraska. moreResolved Question: how to say leave me alone politely?
i have a one track mind right now and that is joining the service. it is either Marines, Army or Air Force. Not National Guard. Anyways at my school the National Guard has a recruiting office there. they know i want to join the service and they keep trying to recruit me. well i've hinted, mentioned and directly told them i'm not int rested in the National Guard. i want to go in full time. Amazingly, they still won't leave me alone. i even go out of my way to avoid walking past their office. so how do i make them stop bothering me with out being rude or disrespectful? moreResolved Question: British army career offices?

Hi! I have just started looking into the different Regiments, as I want to join as an Officer but don't know which path would be best for me. There are several that appeal; I am an outdoorsman and I always have been, and I am very keen on my fitness so the Infantry appeals. Maybe even the Parachute Regiment! However, I also like the idea of armour and so I am looking into Regiments like the R.A.C and Artillery. Is there any way I can get the best of both worlds, or are the two paths a long way off of one another? If I walk into a recruiting office and told them what I say here, would they offer guidance or is it more likely I'd hear, 'come back when you've got a better idea?' Thanks! moreResolved Question: Can I drop a National Guard Recruiter and get another one?
The guy whose recruiting me is an idiot. Technically my friend who is a recruiter has been working with me since day one, but the other guy (we'll call him Cracker) is the one who gets credit. I got DQ'd the last time I was at MEPS because of a growth of my eardrum, it's gone now, but Cracker wont send me back up to MEPS. I have been talking to another branch of the military and I've had a very positive experience and better results. I am thinking of ditching the guard and joining regular Army. But my question is, if I wanted to continue trying to join the Guard, is there a way that I can get another recruiter? I hate this guy. He's a perv. He's made sexual comments to me (that I have laughed off until this point) but he just "knocked up some B$%$" and he now has three daughters who he refers to as Little B$&^% like their mothers. He has 5 or more DUI's and I can't bring my kids to the recruiting office (at the mall) because he uses foul language. I have another friend who is higher up who is putting in a formal complaint for me, but my other friend who has been helping me for a year + says that there isn't anything he can do because he can't take a recruit from Cracker because he has seniority and juice with the "boss." It's my career. I want a different recruiter. How do I make that happen?Well, the part about his dui's is true. I don't how he manages it, but he doesn't hide it. He brags about it. the other people in his office know about it and have had to bail him out. About the Marines... they don't like women. What is it, like 3% of Marines are women? I don't have facial hair and I'm not an Amazon woman. Marines are not a good place for me I think.Cracker equals racism? I think the guy is on drugs. I'm not racist or African American. My avatar is "darker" I don't know why that means I'm a white people hater. I'm Caucasian. I'm just ...dark white. ;)Where I live, almost everybody is white. Cracker is what we call people ON CRACK. Why do people say stupid things like the guy who said I'd get eaten alive by any branch of the military? That was just mean and based on assumptions. Semper Fi? To what? Ignorance? I got a 93 on my Asvab and I'm physically fit to join any branch. moreResolved Question: Can I Get Into UPenn/Boston College/NYU/Boston University/Villanova/Brown?

Have a couple of obstacles though:?
(a) I'm a little bit over the age limit of 46 1/2 years--but I have 12 years active federal duty + 12 years reservist time, so I believe the Army Reserve will consider me to be about "34 1/2" years old for direct commissioning application purposes. This, according to my local Army Healthcare Recruiter office, will not be an issue. (b) The second obstacle, however, appears to be tougher. I was recently non-retained from a state army ng QMP retention board. I had elected by endorsement to be placed in the IRR just in case, as I had feared, I was not retained due to failing two consecutive APFTs (I hurt my back but didn't have a permanent profile--my back is presently fine and I can pass the APFT now). I was discharged from the state army ng with an honorable discharge (NGB form 55 A), RE code '3' with a character of seperation code 'A' and placed into the IRR. Reading various AR 600- and 135- regs getting a RE-3 waiver is possible (but not easy); I'm not exactly sure about the seperation code "A", have not yet found the appropiate table that explains these codes. The healthcare recruit commander I initially talked to said he could arrange the paperwork to request a waiver regarding the RE code 3, relating that he was fairly confident based on my service record packet (or "curriculum vitae", as he put it) that I would get a waiver. However, he has been promoted and moved on, and the (brand) new healthcare recruiting commander seems to be relying on his NCOIC, who says that I cannot send a packet up because I need to be a TPU soldier. And the catch is, of course, I cannot be a TPU soldier now that I have been honorably discharged due to non-retention. Wondering if any current/vets soldiers, especially recruiter types, have any insight to my situation. btw, I'm an former DLI east asian language grad who otj learned Pashto during OEF5 and was awarded the "Spirit of Army Nursing" at nursing graduation. I'd like to practice psych nursing, think I can still significantly contribute to the Army. Coz it sure seems that way News Sport Comment Culture Business Money Life & style Travel Environment Blogs Video Jobs A-Z Comment is free Facing Islamist chaos and America's Rambo, Pakistan is turning to No 10Asif Ali Zardari will discuss his radical new vision in Downing Street today, knowing Washington can derail everything All comments (25) Adrian Levy and Cathy Scott-Clark The Guardian, Tuesday September 16 2008 Article history After claiming to have spent nine years nurturing democracy in Pakistan and festooning the country's military dictatorship with $11bn in aid, the Bush administration's policy is careering out of control, as US soldiers trade bullets with the forces of what was once a most-favoured ally in the "war on terror". On Sunday night, Pakistan border troops fired on a raiding party of American commandos emerging from two Chinooks in an attempt to cross on foot from Afghanistan into the Pakistan village of Angoor Adda. They had no permission to be there. This was the latest in a series of forays into Pakistan sovereign territory taken by US special forces at the behest of President Bush. In July he signed an executive order to sidestep Pakistan's freely elected government in the rush to claim al-Qaida scalps - especially Osama bin Laden's. In the past six weeks, US missiles have rained down on Pakistani villages, with Predator drones lighting up the country's tribal belt and hunter-killer teams dropping into Pakistan's villages in the dead of night. All good timing for the Republicans: these red-blooded offensives play well in America's heartlands; the ailing Bush and his party have been re-branded, Rambo-style, as sidestepping an untrustworthy ally to take the fight directly to the terrorists. However, it is spectacularly bad timing for Pakistan, the raids commencing just three days before Asif Ali Zardari was sworn in as president. During his inaugural speech in Islamabad on September 6, more than 30 civilians were killed by a suicide bombing in Peshawar as the local population vented its anger at the incursions. Zardari has used a family trip to Britain to gain an urgent sit-down with Gordon Brown. Yesterday he flew in to see off his oldest daughter, Bakhtawar, 18, who is studying English literature at Edinburgh University. Today in Downing Street, Zardari will warn the prime minister that the latest twist in the war on terror will "only lead to greater disaster, more hatred, more alienation, more ghettos, more recruits, and more violence". Without Britain's help in holding back the US, buying the new Pakistan government breathing space, anti-American sentiment will wash over the country; Zardari and his Pakistan People's party coalition will be unable to stop it spiralling out of control. If it sounds like blackmail, with Zardari bargaining by placing a gun to his own head - an age-old diplomatic tactic of Pakistan leaders - consider the evidence. Pakistan is in the grip of Islamist-driven chaos with the white pennants of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the country's home-grown medievalists, flying from government offices across North and South Waziristan. North-West Frontier Province, its once cosmopolitan capital of Peshawar and its former ski resorts in the Swat valley, have been encircled by the movement's Vice and Virtue Brigades. The strategically vital province of Baluchistan is simmering; and the economic engine of Karachi is witnessing an explosion of violence. Zardari does not convince everyone, given the welter of corruption charges that once circled him, but he is not the only one worried. The fears of the normally silent Pakistan armed forces were reflected this weekend in an extraordinary article by Lieutenant General Shahid Aziz, who served as the chief of general staff under Zardari's predecessor, Pervez Musharraf. Gen Aziz accused Musharraf of inviting the Americans to fight their war on Pakistani territory, without consulting the army: "Militants will multiply by the thousands," he warned. "The Pakistani army will not be able to support US operations. Financial crisis and street unrest will create chaos in the country and war will spread." Today Gordon Brown will be asked to put his faith in Zardari, an acquisitive man once reviled in this country and his own as "Mr 10%". Days after the assassination of his wife, Benazir Bhutto, Zardari produced a handwritten will; and now he has resurrected a series of radical measures drafted by Benazir shortly before her death. The documents make for compelling reading: "The enemy the west has identified [a handful of al-Qaida and Taliban leaders] is the wrong target. The concern of the developed world is motivated entirely by a single consideration - its own safety. You cannot wage wars against ideas. Fight them with different means." One of these - already shown to the foreign secretary, David Miliband - is the formation of an intergovernmental counter-terrorist body. I took the asvab yesterday and I got an 85 on the percentage, and 104-123 on the Army line scores, 103-232 on Navy line scores. I was hoping to do a little better than that [mostly on my line scores.] Question 1: Are you allowed to retest after you already passed and will they take the most recent score or the higher of the two? My recruiter [Army] said it would be almost pointless for me to retest because a higher score won't do much but aren't there jobs that I might not qualify for? [I know its the line scores that count.] I'm asking because of all the OPEN jobs that showed up in the computer [at the recruiting office] most are technical and mechanical and don't interest me very much. I mean some of them offered good incentives such as 40k sign on bonuses plus college loan repayment on top of my G.I. Bill but they just don't seem like they would fit me. My first job choice [pending availability of course] was Cryptologic Linguist but none of the recruiters in that office knew much about it and it wasn't available anyway. I'm not set in stone signing with the Army, I'm still looking at Air Force and Navy but I don't know what to do! I want a job that I can be dedicated to not a job I hate. Any suggestions? Question 2: [just for opinions sake] Take the jobs with high incentives or take my chances "shopping around" for a job I like, which may never come? [leaving in January]I'm going to see a Navy recruiter today. Just to help me make my decision on which branch.oh by the way I don't FULLy understand how the scoring works so if my scores are already high enough for the job I want then I won't bother retaking. My GTs were 123 and 121. I'm worried about scoring high enough for an intell or medical job. moreResolved Question: Army recruiting questions serious answers please?
How many towns does an army recruiter have out of one station and how far away are those towns from the office? I am asking because my husband just got assigned to this duty for the next 3 years. He has been going to towns that are 1 and 2 hours away and are closer to another recruiting office. He has also had many phone calls from people that are very far away and i do not think that they are in his coverage area. Things havent been going so great and I am finding phone numbers on our bill and numbers stored in his phone and they are females I know that he will be recruiting females as well as males. He talks to me about his recruits all the time and he was very punctual about telling me when one was a female in case they were to call and I answered the phone so as not to start an arguement or suspicion arise. But why would he nottell me about these people? They say that the AF is very hard to get into and they even turn people away but i dont understand the many recruiting offices dotted around town. Also i heard that they even turn people away because they are not as desperate for new recruits like the army and Navy. My son, 20 years old, is being lured into military service by a very aggressive Army recruiter. Granted, my son walked into the recruiting office willfully. However, he's a dumb 20 year old (weren't we all at that age?) and is being sold the moon if he will sign on the dotted line. 3 year commitment, $20K signing bonus after basic training, guaranteed placement into one of his desired places and jobs, etc. The recruiter is calling him constantly, texting him day and night and offered to come to house and pay off his bills. He's even offered to put him up in a fancy hotel overnight so he can take the ASVAB. I'm leary of this clown to be honest. Seems like a used car dealer on acid. I told my son NOT to sign anything unless I was there. Either this guy is starving and willing to sell a soul to make a buck, or he's been given carte blanche to get young folks into the military. Any advice? To Gumby and the others...kiss my a$$. It's my son, my flesh and blood, whom I've raised for 20 years. I'll do whatever is necessary to help and protect him. He's ASKING for my help, I'm not hovering or doting on him. He's living on his own and living his own life. I just don't want him to come back in a body bag thanks to some idiot recruiter who wanted to make a quick buck on a human life. The US Army have been using the ACU everywhere (office, liberty, recruiting centers) when the other branches use service uniforms for these non combat situations. I was enlisted in the Army but ended up having to back out of my contract due to injury. I am now healed and looking to get back in. I went in to talk with the recruiter and his boss told me that I had to make a decision by July 8th or he wasn't going to deal with me anymore and that I would have to go to a different recruiting office. I was later informed that the reason he said this was because the 1stSGT in charge is trying to get a guy in that has bad ASVAB scores and I guess since I am a top tier recruit, if they get me in they can waive the other guy in also. My question is, can he tell me I have to go to a different office? My recruiter has worked his butt off for me and I don't wanna do that.
