College Football Recruiting Rules Questions asked

Resolved Question: Why do people say that USC cheats in football and always breaks NCAA rules all the time?

I live in Los Angeles where USC is basically the king in college football, but people are usually saying that USC is only good because they're dishonest when they recruit and play and basically are a "cheat" football team. more

Resolved Question: How come Mater Dei is always good at Football and Basketball? do they recruit athletes? isn't that illegal for?

high schools to do? isn't that part of CIF rules? in case you don't know, Mater Dei is a very well known high school in Southern California, current Arizona Cardinals Quarterback Matt Leinart and former USC Heisman Trophy Winner, went to Mater Dei. The currenty number one football recruit in the country, or nation, for class of 2009, is current Mater Dei Quaterback Matt Barkley, who was committed to USC. The basketball team has gone very far, they are always insanely, ridiculously good, they have won 24 league championships, 19 CIF Championships, 10 Southern California championships, and 7 State championships. Current Phoenix Suns player and son of former MLB player, Darryl Strawberry, his son D.J. Strawberry plays for the Phoenix Suns. Taylor King, who is the school's and Orange County's all time leading scorer went there, he went to Duke for his freshman year in college but transferred and is now at Villanova. Alex Jacobson, a 7 foot 1 center, plays for the Arizona Wildcats. There have been other great athletes that went to Mater Dei, it is just crazy on how they are always so good, because if you look at most high school, college, and professional sports dynasties, they just come and go, but for Mater Dei, they have been dominating forever, it just makes you think, how can they always be that good? because players graduate and move on, it is like they never rebuild, they just re-load. Honestly, do you think Mater Dei in Santa Ana, California, secretly recruits athletes?Gary McKnight has been the basketball coach at Mater Dei for 25 years, and all those championships that I have mentioned, Mater Dei has won all of them under his leadership, he actually coached Mater Dei to their first ever CIF championship in the 1980's, he turned the program into a dominating monster. more

Resolved Question: How is 59 year old college football player, Mike Flynt, eligible to still play?

Is this under NCAA rules or some other rogue league? Does anyone know the rules well enough to show how a 59 year old can still play college ball? Imagine what would happen if a football team recruited a bunch of 20-30 something year olds in top physical condition which just missed playing at the NFL level. more

Resolved Question: Do you think Pete Carroll will go down as one of the greatest college football coaches ever?

In my estimate he is nearly equal to Bowden and Paterno already all he needs is a few more conferences. He has one shared title and one outright title. He has been in the top 5 five years in a row. He is recruiting legendary player after player. Of course the people desperate to discredit USC point to one player who allegedly broke NCAA rules but it seems to be his parents not him. So where do you think he will go down all time? I think if he continues at this pace he will be the greatest ever. more
